PERSONALITY Where Where Red and Luce both exemplify extremes — fire and ice, to sum them up in a single word — Edge herself falls somewhere in the middle. Calm and even-tempered, she has remained a warm, compassionate person despite the horrors of war, serving as a cool and unwavering support for her fellow soldiers. The straight-laced one, a protective and responsible "big sister" type that can seem downright innocent to more cynical personalities. And yet Edge is also adaptable, pragmatic, not above resorting to bribery and other tricks to achieve her goals, for all that she prefers to abide by regulations whenever possible. Like Red, she's motivated by noble principles — protect your comrades, help the needy, see justice done — though she pursues them in a decidedly more restrained and levelheaded fashion by comparison. But while Red wears her heart on her sleeve and gets swept away by raw emotion, Edge puts up a wall around her own less-than-admirable feelings of paranoia and doubt so as not to worry others or compromise her effectiveness as a soldier. As a result, she's not always entirely truthful, and the stress occasionally gets the better of her....especially where Red is concerned.

ABOUT The world of On a Leash is very similar to our own, with two major differences: everyone is capable of shape-shifting, and the world is divided into three different countries. These in turn are primarily divided into reptiles ("Reptile" — based on France and Italy), avians (the Federvolk Imperium — based on Nazi Germany), and mammals (the United States of Mammalia — based on, well, the USA). Set between the 1930's and 40's, war has broken out between these three countries, with the backdrop of the comic focusing on an uneasy alliance between the mammals and the reptiles against the imperialist avians. Edge is a staff sergeant in the mammalian Army on the front lines of the conflict, working to coordinate efforts against the Federvolk Imperium while growing increasingly distracted by the turbulent "relationship" unfolding between her best friend Irene Red and the captain of the reptilian medical regiment, Luce Duvall. .... In other words, she's from a trashy furry smut comic loosely set in an alternate WW2-era Earth, feel free to not engage if that isn't your thing!
